Marble, Rope

18”x18”x60”

Intransient Rosebud was milled on a seven axis CNC machine in Gramolazzo, Italy in Northern Tuscany. The work draws on the history of marble by engaging the traditional concepts of the female form. A level of abstraction was achieved by using a photographic process to recreate the model digitally. The piece is an exploration of the use of lines in our society as a way of controlling and shaping our world.
